Der Kaiser unterm Berg is an experimental film installation that merges performance art, art and documentary elements. It is based on the legend of Emperor Charlemagne, who died in 814. Since then he has been supposed to sleep under the Untersberg and wake up every 100 years to see whether the ravens are still flying around the Untersberg. It is looked after by the Untersberger Manderln. When the ravens stop flying, he will rise and the end of the world will begin.
