Desmodontinae (Latin: vampire bats) is an experimental film installation based on performance art and documentary film experiments on the subject of vampirism presented on three screens. Desmodontinae is based on the story of the first lesbian vampire of literary history: “Carmilla von Karnstein”, which was operating in Styria, Austria, the country of origin of Evamaria Schaller. Mythical scenes on the subject of bloodsucking are the visual source material. Surrealism alternates with documentary.
