Desmodontinae is based on the story of the first lesbian vampire in literary history: “Carmilla von Karnstein” who was up to mischief in Styria, Austria, Evamaria Schaller’s country of origin. Mythical scenes on the subject of bloodsucking are the visual starting point. The surreal alternates with the documentary.
Desmodontinae (lat; vampire bats) is an experimental film installation based on performance art and documentary film experiments on the subject of vampirism presented on three screens.
